Ian is a founding director of HFM and its Principal Consultant. With vast experience and technical knowledge gained from running commercial buildings, Ian is an expert on the “as-built world.”
As a specialist energy auditor, water auditor and management consultant, he is often called on for:

Project management of large refurbishments covering soft fit-outs,
Mechanical & electrical upgrades
Due diligence and condition reports for commercial buildings and hotels.
Ian has been responsible for many industry-changing developments and initiatives over the past 25 years.
He is an accredited NABERS Assessor and was a founding member of the Australian Institute of Hotel Engineering.
Bevan is the General Manager of HFM Asset Management. With a wealth of practical and theoretical knowledge, Bevan adopts a customer-focused approach to operational issues, strategic planning and development.
He joined the company in 2010, and his past roles include Group Operations Manager at Broadwater Hospitality and Group Systems Manager at five Accor Perth properties.
Bevan has over 20 years of experience working with national and international hotels, which provides him with further comprehension regarding the client’s expectations and point of view.
General Manager, Technical Services
David is responsible for the management of all technical elements of both project delivery and HFM’s HSEQ processes. David oversees the delivery projects such as building upgrades and refurbishments, efficiency improvement programs, building condition audits; building maintenance and lifecycle planning and a broad range of energy and environmental reporting.
With over 20 years’ experience within the Building Services and Facilities Management industry, David has extensive experience through the whole building life cycle from design, construction and operation. He built his experience on a strong working knowledge of a wide variety of facilities, and this ensures the best applicable industry practice is evaluated and implemented for our Clients.
Lead Consultant, Building Improvement
Alex’s primary role is the management and administration of HFM’s Utility Performance Management (UPM) department. By guiding a team of skilled consulting engineers and state of the art technology and processes, the UPM department helps landlords and managers to exceed their energy and water efficiency targets for their buildings.
He is an experienced and fully qualified NABERS and CBD assessor and has completed over 100 NABERS assessments on different types of buildings (offices, hotels, data centres) across Australia.
Senior Project Manager
Laszlo comes from a strong background of practical expertise and international experience and has been with the consulting team since 2011. A senior member of the consulting team, Laszlo is involved with project management, report-writing and managing energy saving solutions in commercial and retail sites.

Head of Finance
Lia comes from a background in corporate finance and investment and is the head of our administration and finance departments. In her capacity as Manager of Finance, she is responsible for all financial reporting, invoicing, payroll and superannuation. Her areas of expertise include systems and change management, financial planning, events management and corporate finance.
Electrical Engineering Consultant
Beth’s background is in electrical power and renewable energy engineering. She has been part of the consulting team since 2014.
The key features of her role are lighting design for improved aesthetics and energy performance; carrying out energy and water audits, meter network reviews and meter reconciliations; monitoring utility performance for a number of buildings across Australia, and managing energy performance for sites located in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Ballina.
John operates from HFM’s Brisbane office as a Senior Consultant, servicing the east coast of Australia. He has a trade background starting his refrigeration, air conditioning trade in 1974 and has worked in high-rise office buildings, hospitals, military complexes and hotels in a variety of roles from construction, to maintenance and facility management, building a wealth of experience with mechanical services, building management systems and overall commercial building services.
Having over 40 years of experience caring for commercial buildings and working for extended periods in New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia he has gaining knowledge of the climatic challenges commercial buildings face in tropical, desert and temperate conditions and the various statutory requirements across the country.
He is proficient at conducting energy & water auditing, NABERS assessments, Building Energy Efficiency Certificate (BEEC) assessments, building services life cycle and condition reporting as well as utility monitoring and reporting. Understanding the requirements for facility management, he targets reports with realistic and fiscally achievable recommendations.
Lead Consultant, Asset Management & Facility Advisory
Rob works as a Senior Energy Consultant for HFM on the East Coast of Australia. He has significant experience in the property industry with over 20 years split between the mechanical services and sustainable building industries.
Rob has worked throughout Australia and is skilled in a diverse range of engineering consulting services including; energy & water auditing, NABERS and Building Energy Efficiency Certificate (BEEC) assessments, sustainability reporting, building services reviews and project management of building services upgrades.
Rob is a highly qualified assessor for the NABERS and Commercial Building Disclosure (CBD) programs, having completed over 100 NABERS assessments for offices, hotels and shopping centres on a national basis. Rob works closely with landlords and property managers assisting them with maintaining or achieving their NABERS targets.
Rob’s role with HFM includes consulting on commercial assets through their total building performance, as well as taking a larger role in East Coast Australia Business Development.
Building Services Consultant
Vladimir operates from Melbourne. He is a Sustainability Engineer with over ten years of experience in delivering projects to improve performance, energy efficiency and reduce costs and emissions for corporate and government clients. He holds accreditations in WELL, Green Star, Commercial Building Disclosure and NABERS (Office, Hotels, Shopping Centres and Data Centres).
Vladimir specialises in NABERS and BEEC assessments managing portfolio and Green Lease requirements. He has completed over 140 NABERS ratings across Australia.
His background is in Civil Engineering and IT. He is highly interested in building sustainability and providing maximum benefit to clients.
