Earth Hour 2019

It's time to switch off and connect to earth

It's time to give Earth a 60-minute break for Earth Hour 2019

Earth deserves a break

Over the past 15 years, HFM has been helping clients improve the efficiency of buildings and sites across all sectors; by doing this we are reducing their environmental impact (while saving them money).

As sustainability professionals, we take the environment seriously and support initiatives that can have a positive impact on our planet.

This year, once again our team members and their families will switch off their lights during Earth Hour – Saturday 30th March 2019 between 8:30p.m. and 9:30 p.m. (local time) to show their commitment to the Earth.

We are extending this invite to our clients, industry, friends, families and community to join us by switching lights off to give Earth a one-hour break.

What is earth hour?

Earth Hour started as a symbolic act to raise awareness of the carbon footprint and it’s an initiative of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

The first Earth Hour was held in Sydney on 31 March 2007. At the time, approximately 2.2 million people and 2.000 businesses switched off their lights for one hour to express their concern about climate change.

Over the years, it has become a global campaign that raises awareness about energy use.

It is essential to understand that the primary aim of this campaign is not only to save power but also to raise awareness about the pollution that comes as a result of the generation of electric energy with traditional means.
