Matt Holmes wins Property Council Award

Named WA Young Achiever for 2011

HFM's National Systems Manager, Matt Holmes, has been named the Property Council of Australia - WA's Young Achiever of the Year.

Managing Director, Ian Knox, said Matt was up against two strong finalists at the awards night on Friday 21 October and the win was a credit to his dedication and innovation.

"We are extremely pleased that Matt has received industry recognition for his hard work and innovative ideas," Mr Knox said.

The award, which is open to property professionals aged 25 to 35, aims to recognise individual excellence and contribution to the property industry in Western Australia.

Its focus is on the individual's role and quality of involvement in various projects/developments, rather than the size, value or importance of the project/development itself.

32-year-old Matt was recognised for his work with the water and energy management of many Perth properties, assisting with the advancement of NABERS tools, developing HFM's online web analysis tool and organising benchmarking exercises for large organisations such as the Water Corporation.

Enex100, Alluvion, One40William and 130 Stirling Street are just some of the high profile Perth properties Matt has provided high level consultancy services to.

In addition, he began the company IUtilities with three colleagues in 2009. The organisation provides alternative metering and billing solutions to strata commercial and residential properties.

Accepting his award, Matt said: "It has been a great five years working with HFM in the WA property industry, being able to see the changes in perception to sustainability and efficiency, with owners and managers embracing the opportunities.

"I am excited about the next five years, especially to see the new projects and technological developments Perth will take on."
