Mandatory Disclosure for Commercial Office Buildings

Emissions reporting is a new mandatory requirement for commercial property owners as legislated by the Building Energy Efficiency Disclosure Act 2010.

Building owners are required to disclose their building's performance to prospective purchasers and tenants. This disclosure is by way of a BEEC (Building Energy Efficiency Certificate) which includes a NABERS base building star rating and a Tenancy Lighting Assessment.

Outside of the need for regulation, engagement in the NABERS program is an excellent tool to demonstrate that you are meeting your environmental obligations as good corporate citizens.
