Managing Director

 Ian is a founding director of HFM and its Principal Consultant. With vast experience and technical knowledge gained from running commercial buildings, Ian is an expert on the “as-built world.”

As a specialist energy auditor, water auditor and management consultant, he is often called on for:

  • Energy and water procurement
  • Project management of large refurbishments covering soft fit outs,
  • Mechanical & electrical upgrades
  • Hotel refurbishments
  • Due diligence and condition reports for commercial buildings and hotels.

Ian has been responsible for multiple industry changing developments and initiatives over the past 25 years.

He is an accredited NABERS Assessor and was a founding member of the Australian Institute of Hotel Engineering

General Manager 

Bevan is responsible for Energy Procurement, sales and support of iRequest, data management for TMAR, Yardstick and associated auditing works, IT and communications systems and project management.

With a wealth of practical and theoretical knowledge, Bevan adopts a practical, customer-focused approach to operational issues, and strategic planning and development.

With over 20 years of experience working with national and international hotel operators, Bevan’s past roles include Group Operations Manager at Broadwater Hospitality and Group Systems Manager at five Accor Perth properties.

David Chokolich

General Manager, Technical Services

David is the General Manager of Technical Services for HFM Asset Management and is responsible for the management of all technical staff delivering projects such as building efficiency improvement programs, building condition audits; building maintenance and life cycle planning and a broad range of energy and environmental reporting.

With over 20 years’ experience within the Building Services design and Facilities Management, David has extensive experience in Building Operation, Maintenance and Energy Management, which is built on a strong working knowledge of a wide variety of facilities and this ensures the best applicable industry practice is evaluated and implemented for our Clients.

UPM Manager


Alex’s primary role is in the management and administration of HFM’s Utility Performance Management (UPM) department. Utilising a team of skilled consulting engineers and state of the art technology and processes, the UPM department guides landlords and managers to exceed their energy and water efficiency targets for their buildings.

An experienced and fully qualified NABERS and CBD assessor, Alex has completed more than 100 NABERS assessment on various building types (office, hotel, data centre) across Australia. In addition, recent government rankings demonstrate top 5 performance for total BEEC assessments completed Australia wide annually. He is responsible for undertaking his own assessments and facilitating a team of NABERS assessors.

Senior Mechanical Engineer 

Laszlo comes from a strong background of practical expertise and international experience, and has been with the consulting team since 2011. A senior member of the consulting team, Laszlo is involved with report writing and managing energy saving solutions in commercial and retail sites.

Areas of expertise:

  • Technical due diligence for hotels and hospitals
  • Mechanical technical review for air-conditioning upgrading projects.
  • Energy efficiency, gap analysis, energy management plans
  • NABERS ratings and BMS reviews

Laszlo Pare - HFM


Head of Finance

Lia comes from a background in corporate finance and investment, and is the head of our administration and finance departments. In her capacity as Manager of Finance, she is responsible for all financial reporting, invoicing, payroll and superannuation. Her areas of expertise include systems and change management, financial planning, events management and corporate finance.

Head of Facilities Management

Rod’s diverse background in international telecommunications and IT has given him the skills to oversee our facilities management and support services. He has worked in all areas of Western Australia, including the Kimberly and Pilbara regions, and has worked for many years in Papua New Guinea.

With our facility portfolio ranging between Mandurah, Port Hedland and Karratha, Rod is often called upon for:

  • Facilities Management Contract compliance
  • Staff support and training
  • Client reporting
  • Tender processing

BETH Morris

Electrical Engineering Consultant

Beth’s background is in electrical power and renewable energy engineering, she has been part of the consulting team since February 2014.

The key features of her role are lighting design for improved aesthetics and energy performance; carrying out energy and water audits, meter network reviews and meter reconciliation; monitoring utility performance for a number of buildings around Perth, and managing energy performance for Perth sites.
